Well I won’t lie to you. I respect you too much to play those kinds of games so I’m just going to give it to you straight. It’s hot. Hotter than a rug burn after a long night of tying the room together.
Now I know what you’re thinking: “Clifford, why would I want to go camping inside Arizona’s version of a furnace?” That, my friend, is logical to wonder. Like what’s my motive, right? Why do I seem to be suggesting something that might give my guests moments of discomfort? As a camp host, shouldn’t I want the very best for my guests?
Well, let me answer that question with another question…
What If I Told You the Heat is Just Part of the Adventure?
Imagine waking up to a cool morning breeze, sipping your coffee while the world is still comfortable and calm and quiet and the jackrabbits are still wiping the sleep chunks out of their eyes. As the day goes on, the sun rises higher and so too does the thermometer. It can sometimes get intense. You’re sweating, but you’re also kind of impressed with yourself. Is this all there is to the heat of an Arizona summer? Your clothes are soaked in sweat, but you’re hanging in there pretty well!
But time marches on, and the temperature continues to inch its way up and after a while you start to wonder if this was a good idea. Now you’re starting to understand what an old fashioned southwestern summer is! And just when it seems like the heat doesn’t have a ceiling, the monsoon clouds start to roll in like nature’s own personal cool-down crew.
The sky darkens and the breeze picks up. The temperature drops and the result is an air-feel that makes you so very happy you came and stuck it out. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it doesn’t… But either way you are all set for a glorious day.
And when the sun sets? The temperature drops even further. The crickets start their jam session and the stars pop in a dazzling 3D display. No light pollution, just a sky full of twinkling wonders. You lie back, look up, and suddenly, you’re part of something bigger, man. It’s far out.
Your mission if you choose to accept it: brave the heat, embrace the monsoon, and enjoy the precious time we all have to be alive. Bring your laid-back vibes and accept every minute of the day and night exactly the way it comes to you! I mean you have to be somewhere – why not here?
