That’s right… that wasn’t a misprint – The Easy Breezy Desert Shelter is back!

Come on out and experience the newly reimagined World Famous Easy Breezy Desert Shelter at A Spark in the Dark Campground!!!

After several months offline for a major facelift, “The Easy” is officially back — rebuilt, refreshed, weather-improved, porch-expanded, art-filled, and ready for its next strange and beautiful chapter. And YOU are the main character!

The Easy Breezy Desert Shelter began its life as a simple 8’x8’ three-sided desert shelter with a floor, roof, windows, and a big open front facing the high desert. And now? It still has that same open-air spirit, but the experience has been upgraded in a big way.

The shelter has been tightened up around the roofline and upper wall gaps to give it much better protection from wind-driven rain and weather than before. It is still an open-front desert shelter — not a sealed cabin — but it is now much more finished, comfortable, and intentional. And the open-front design remains, because that view is the whole everlovin’ point!

From inside the shelter, you can look out across junipers and wide-open desert land, distant mountains, sunrise colors, sunset fire, and the kind of night sky that makes you forget whatever nonsense you were worried about earlier. The Milky Way, shooting stars, satellites, rocket launches, meteor showers, and maybe even the occasional “what the hell was that?” moment are all part of the show.

The biggest new addition is the 8’x9’ front porch. This changes everything. It gives Easy Breezy a real outdoor living space where you can sit with coffee in the morning, watch the sunset in the evening, set up chairs, read, write, play music, talk, laugh, or stare into the horizon like you’re in the final scene of an indie movie.

The porch features a large secured outdoor rug with a bold sunburst design, turning the front of the shelter into a warm and inviting desert sitting area.

* Calm-weather privacy/shade screen

* Interior table/shelf space
* Large parking and turnaround area
* Nearly an entire acre of space! Plenty of room for tents, vehicles, gear, and guests!

The bug screen lets you keep the open view and airflow while cutting down on flying insects, and the privacy/shade screen is useful on calm days when you want a little visual privacy for changing clothes, relaxing, or taking a break from the sun. It is not a storm wall or wind barrier — it is a lightweight privacy and shade option.

Inside, The Easy Breezy now has a much stronger artistic identity thanks to nature-inspired artwork and natural-material creations by Erica Lusardi. Her pieces are made from found and gathered natural materials collected through her travels and adventures, giving the shelter a handmade, wandering-spirit kind of atmosphere. And after dark, subtle solar lighting brings the art to life with color and mood without overwhelming the night sky.

This site can be whatever you need it to be:

* A writer’s hideout.
* A romantic couple’s escape.
* A family hangout.
* A birthday gathering.
* A music night.
* A desert basecamp.
* A quiet place to disappear for a while without having to join a cult.

The Easy Breezy sits in a large scenic area with plenty of space to spread out. There is room for multiple tents, extra guests, vehicles, and gear. Larger vehicles, vans, small RVs, and motorhomes have space to pull through and maneuver, though this remains a dry-camping / boondocking property with no RV hookups.

Nearby, there is a beautiful little shade spot formed by two junipers and a medium-ish pine. The trees naturally create a shaded triangle that is excellent for a hammock, morning meditation, reading, or just sitting quietly on the stump in the center and letting the desert do its thing.

Your restroom is a short walk down the service road to the campground porta-potty, which is cleaned daily and includes solar lighting and a little music to help you pass, umm, the time.

Also available for your enjoyment is a large 30-acre area of the property called The Bones of the Ancients Nature Trail, with space for hiking, wandering, exploring, and finding your own quiet corner of the desert.

There is also a horseshoe pit and cornhole in the Community Area!

Wildlife:
This is northern Arizona high-desert country, so wildlife sightings are always possible. Pronghorn antelope, elk, mule deer, jackrabbits, prairie dogs, packrats, birds, lizards, and yes, sometimes rattlesnakes, may share the land with you. Look around, pay attention, and enjoy the fact that you are visiting their neighborhood too.

Moonlight Market:
The Moonlight Market is a self-serve collection of useful items you may want or need, depending on current availability. This may include gallons of water, firewood, bug spray, sunscreen, emergency pet food, loaner items, stakes, small supplies, souvenirs, and other odds and ends. It is self-service, with multiple ways to pay and full instructions inside.

Stars:
The night sky is one of the main attractions here. There is very little light pollution, and on clear nights the sky opens up beautifully. Watch the Milky Way, shooting stars, satellites, planets, and the occasional rocket launch out of California!

The World Famous Easy Breezy Desert Shelter is back open and better than ever, and it’s ready for whoever needs a little weird desert magic, a little quiet, one hell of a sunset, and a front-row seat to the cosmos.

$60 per night for up to 4 people. Extra people are $5 per person per night with a loose maximum of 25 people.
